This motion graphic expresses the song, Hard Times, through shapes, motion, and color. The choice of bright and neon shades of purple, blue, pink, and yellow was inspired by the upbeat and 80’s sounds of the song’s instrumentals, while the movement and formation of shapes were inspired beats and rhythms in the different sections.

Frames of ordered patterns contrast with frames of shapes that are seemingly displaced to highlight the differences in sound and visual elements. All together, each act and frame are meant to convey the visual language of the instruments.
